IARC212
What I would like to learn more about is sketch up completely. Although I know how to make boxes and do basics the program is completely new to me. I would like to know how to add textures and lighting effects in a more successful way in photoshop in order to make them look less placed. I would like to learn more in autocad as far as features and techniques to make it simpler to create layouts, floorplans, and elevations.

Social Media Table
This was an assignment where we were suppose to make a table having to do with social media. I created a business conference table with indentions in which people would put the chairs. The individual parts that project out on the sides are individual computer screens for each person in which they can slide their information from their individual screens to the long middle space of the table combining each ones information and thoughts. This way everyone can include what they want and everyone can see everyones ideas spread across the middle without having papers everywhere.
Light Box
This assignment we were to create a light box that created four section cuts by using light and shadow. The top two pictures show the multiple sketch models I used to view different types of lighting and shadows created with different cuts. The bottom two images show my final project as if they were found in a building or a space. The two squares pushed in creating overhangs create 2 section cuts on the back wall with shadows and the skewers in the middle cause a distinct line in the middle.
Cont. Writers Retreat
This is a section cut drawing of the front walkway view of the writers retreat. This shows the balcony and front entrance to the rest of the house.
Writers Retreat
Our last assignment for the semester was to redo the interior of St. Mary's. We were to design this as if a writer was coming in and living in the space for a while. I chose to focus on the separation and combination of public and private areas. I created a loft for a private bedroom and included a balcony for reflecting and interaction with guests at the door. Downstairs there is a walkway a reading room and then proceeding to the back of the house is a private and public bathroom a student, colleague, and reflection room. I wanted this space to be comfortable for the writer, but also have a distinct separation between the public areas and the private ones.
